Sultan Mosques of Wonder Istanbul and a view of interior dome of Fatih Mosque (Turkish: Şehr-i İstanbul'un Sultan Camileri ve Fatih Camii'nin iç kubbesinin bir görüntüsü).
The Fatih mosque complex was a religious and social building of unprecedented size and complexity built in Istanbul between 1463-1470 by the order of Fatih Sultan Mehmet, on the site of the former Byzantine Church of the Holy Apostles, which had been a ruin since the Fourth Crusade. It was built by the royal architect Atik Sinan. The mosque closed to public for a long time about 15 years because of the restoration. Finally it opened to public again on May 29, 2012 by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
